Counselling and Psychotherapy
We all experience emotional distress at some time in our lives. This may be following bereavement, the breakdown of a relationship, depression or even when difficult decisions are required; it may be that you just feel overwhelmed by feelings you can’t understand or control.
Physical symptoms such as headaches, fatigue even raised blood pressure can accompany emotional distress.
Working with a trained counsellor is not like talking to a friend. A counsellor does not offer sympathy and solutions. A counsellor will listen without judgement, challenge as well as support, offer understanding so that you grow in insight and strength to help you find new ways of thinking and feeling.
In a confidential, empathic environment counselling can help you gain the confidence to make new choices in your life and move on to a more fulfilled future.
Using an integrated counselling approach allows me to use aspects of different theoretical approaches instead of just one sole method. I embrace psychodynamic, transactional analysis, cognitive behaviour therapy, person centred therapy and hypnotherapy.
Working with your experience I can apply an appropriate technique to suit you because we are all different and what works with one person won’t necessarily work with another.
I believe that everyone has the ability to make the changes required for a happier life - all they need is someone to guide them. So, take that first step to a happier and healthier life and make an appointment today.
