What is self hypnosis?
Once you learn how hypnosis feels, you can be taught to achieve the state of relaxation yourself. With practice you will be able to take yourself into and out of this state of relaxation whenever you wish to. This is called self-hypnosis.
Can anybody be hypnotised?
Yes, anyone can be hypnotised as long as they want to be and have an ability to concentrate. Therefore it is not appropriate for very young children or people with certain mental disabilities. A hypnotherapist cannot force you against your will.
What is the difference between stage hypnosis and the clinical hypnosis that you practice?
Stage hypnosis is a form of hypnosis that was invented by hypnotists to work with a group of people for entertainment. Clinical hypnosis and hypnotherapy are serious clinical ways to change lives for the better. A qualified hypnotherapist is bound by the ethical standards of their accrediting body and will be empathic to your problem with total confidentiality guaranteed.
Is hypnotherapy safe?
Absolutely!
Will I lose control of myself and could I be made to say or do anything against my will or nature?
No. You will know what is going on and you will retain your intelligence and your self-control.
Hypnotherapy requires the client and the therapist to work together in a spirit of co-operation, in order to help you to control your own mind.
For Hypnotherapy to be successful, you need to be comfortable with what is going on in the session. If any suggestion is given to that you do not agree with, you could reject it. If anything was suggested to you that went against your beliefs or moral code you would be shocked out of hypnosis.
Is improvement guaranteed?
It is neither possible nor ethical to make any guarantee about the results of treatment. I will however be able to find out quickly if this type of treatment will work for you and if we can get to the root cause of your problem. It is not unusual for simple problems to be resolved in one or two sessions.
Will I need someone to take me home?
You will feel absolutely fine after your treatment, in fact more relaxed and alert than before and you will be able to return home, or to work, as appropriate without any concerns.
How do I pay?
Payment can be made by cash or cheque at the end of each session.
What if I have other questions?
It is not unusual to have questions about hypnotherapy. Some people are not familiar with hypnotherapy, or, have wrong information about it. Please feel free to call and discuss your questions to help you determine if hypnotherapy could help you
